1. Where is Subic Bay Children's Home located? After the Eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991 4. May I visit Subic Bay Children's Home? Over 50,000 meals plus snacks are prepared for the children each year and over 5,000 loads of laundry are done. Each year the children consume 18 tons of rice.
Answer: SBCH is located on seven acres on the side of a mountain in Olongapo City, Philippines about 50 miles north of Manila on the island of Luzon. 2. When did SBCH begin?
Answer: The home was started in 1989 and was destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991. The home has been rebuilt and currently has an administration building, new boy's and girl's dorms, kitchen and dining hall, church, visitor's cottage, medical clinic, work shop, and school room.

3. Can the children be adopted?
Answer: We are not an adoption agency or foster care. This is where the kids call home and they are our children. There are many adoption agencies and over a million children living on the streets in the Philippines that need help. If you seek adoption you can search other Philippine orphanages by going to this site:
Answer: Yes! The kids need hugs, smiles and any talents you may have. But I promise the kids will give you more than you could ever give them.

5. How many children live in the home and what are their ages?
Answer: Currently there are 46 children living in the home and there ages range from 1 year old to 18 years old.
6. How are you supported?
Answer: Our support comes from churches and individuals who love and support the children.
7. How are children admitted into care?
Answer: Some children are referred by the Department of Social Welfare and Development while others are brought by family members. Some of the children have been brought to the home by their parents in an attempt to sell them to the home but most are left when the parent finds out they will receive no money.
Most of the children arrive at the home with head lice and are malnourished. They are deloused, given a hearty meal, and put on vitamins. Some of the children have to be taken directly to the hospital because they are so severely malnourished.
8. How can I help?
Answer: There are three ways you can help.
a. Volunteer - for child care, entertainment, repair and construction
b. Open doors - for us in your church, office or group to present the home

10. What happens to the kids after they turn 18?
Answer: Some of the children go to college and others a trained for an occupation and helped with finding a job. Currently there are five of the kids in college. Jhemma is going to be a social worker. April Joy, Lolita, Jingjing, and Rogelio are in Bible College in Iloilo. After a time away from the home a few have returned as adults to work as pastors, teachers, and cooks.
11. Where do the kids go to school?
Answer: The kids attend Subic Bay Christian Academy located on the grounds of the children's home. The curriculum they use is School of Tomorrow donated by one of our supporting churches.
12. Do the kids love rice?
Answer: YES! Some other things they love include chocolate, pizza, BBQ chicken, chocolate milk, and Doritos. They also love to sing. Hear the kids SING.
